Free Chinese Cultural Activities: Paper Cutting on

Free Chinese Cultural Activities: Paper Cutting on

On Friday, May 22nd, MY Chinese Study will hold a free Chinese cultural activity at Sanlitun SOHO. The topic is Chinese Paper Cutting.

Chinese Paper Cutting or Jianzhi is the first type of paper cutting design. The art form later spread to other parts of the world with different regions adopting their own cultural styles. Because the cut outs are also used to decorate doors and windows, they are sometimes referred to “chuāng huā” (窗花), meaning Window Flower.

In our paper cutting class, our teacher will teach you how to cut flowers, fish, butterflies and so on.
