Event Description

“Cross-cultural challenges in multi-national businesses” will be of special interest to Chinese working with foreigners and to foreigners working with Chinese.
If you are a Hiring Manager, HR professional, Global Mobility professional, Destination Service Provider, Cross-culture expert or thinking to work in a company that employs people from more than one country this session is essential.
People frequently misinterpret certain actions, behaviours, or decisions that seemingly make no sense, or even seem to violate “obvious” etiquette or professionalism standards. This workshop makes sense of this with easy to follow explanations, illustrative cases, and humorous examples.
Daniel teaches this subject to EMBA exchange classes at Peking University Guanghua School of Management.
The workshop will cover:
  1. a. The need for change – environmental factors resulting in competitive pressures, policy support for privatization and market liberalization, and what this means for business and individuals
  2. b. The multi-cultural work environment – what it means to be part of a truly multi-cultural workforce, and the demands thereof
  3. c. How cultivation influences thoughts/behaviors/paradigms – why people of different cultivation see things differently. Why a multi-cultural mindset is the only viable solution to effective international integration.
  4. d. How and where cultural issues will manifest as problems / challenges / dilemmas – predicting where culture will cause problems, preventing (avoiding) or repairing (fixing) damage.
This session is limited to 20 people.
