April 1: Fools & Clowns for charity evening

April 1: Fools & Clowns for charity evening

Hosted by: Colin Friedman

Event Description

It’s April Fools Day and we want to do something special.

Not just a silly joke or a prank but to do something fun for a reason.

The United Foundation for China’s Health (UFCH) are desperately trying to raise funds for two children with leukaemia.

We want to help.

One is a 13 year old girl from Tangshan.

She is in her last stage of treatment after two years, but the father has not been able to work and the mother suffers from some emotional disorder yet looks after the second child. They are officially considered a poor family and have received donations online but that time period is limited and they no longer have the funds to cover the last stage of medical treatment at a local hospital. UFCH was given a small donation to help pay for their medical bills, but is in need of more donations to help cover the ongoing medical bill.

The other is a boy. He is 15 years old and a twin. His twin sister is healthy. This family is from a low income family in Beijing and are faced with escalating medical bills. This boy is a talented artist and there is good prognosis for his future if he can get the medicine he needs.

Come wearing a red nose (or something equally silly) and we will donate 20% (25RMB) of the standard ticket price (125RMB) to charity.

Representatives from UFCH will be present to accept the donations and to explain a bit about their wonderful work.

It will be a fun evening to socialize and network for a good cause.
