I noticed there seem to be new functions as commets left, besides Group /Friends/Events requets, and, where/how to check the comments?

Yes, the people who run the site put it on their IT resumes, yet all this site proves is their general incompetence.
To reiterate Tempora's complaint, it is no longer possible to post anything on the Timeline board, except for the banal "x is following y" posts.

Yes, but apparently they are busy doing other things, like updating the site and making it less user-friendly.
