same with the topic.what is ur view on it?should he tell her he wants them to be friends then maybe after sometime he tells her he wants more than friends or should he just go straight to the point and tell her he wants to date her?

    ...

Hahahahaha ... Stevie ... but wouldn't that depends on the definition of "friends" ...

As much as romance between friends is possible, sometimes, if the chemistry is right, both friendship and spark can happen at the same time at the very first instant ...

i think without anything being said formally, let there be sparks like lightning for the both of them but without them actually speaking out they are just friends.secret lovers as it would end up being.

Dude, I don't think there's a certain way, what you should/shouldnt do totally depends on the girl's natures.

    I really agree Fish.

But some guy just want to feeling at the first, if no feeling in the first, they will give up to make friends.

it is a little problem, if i want to be friend first, but he doesnt want!

i think that , it will depend on the situation and the girl, in my particular opinion i know if i would like more since the first time that i hang out with a guy, and well if i let the friendship starts is hard that becomes more than just a friendship afterwards

I agree with Judy and Fish:

If you can't become good friends then I don't see any reason all to date.

I've got long-term female friends with whom I've slept and with whom I haven't slept, and among both groups there are a few who would trust me enough to let me sleep on the sofa if I needed a place to crash for a night or two. Of course, I'm talking about people who are even more intimately familiar with my peculiar brand of androgynous perversity than you folks.

Again, I wouldn't claim that any of these friendships are totally pure, but to call it unreal or impossible? Maybe for y'all sheeple.

    no

because I just dont make friends very well with females. I have a few but they are married so that doesn't give me a chance to begin with ;)

And how do you define date?

If i take a girl out to dinner and her and I are not "dating" yet, does this not equate a date to begin with?

I've heard many girls say "i want to be your friend". Well that is very interesting because I do not really believe I have much in common with a Chinese girl.

How many people do you know who enjoy staying up all night to watch the stars?
Or will ride 70km on their bikes outside of Beijing?

I guess I am being single minded, but fuck, its early and I haven't had more than a dash of coffee. so forgiveme.

But honestly, if there is a girl I like and I ask her out to dinner, it means that I want more than friendship.

I won't ask a girl out to dinner if there is no potential. its called "a waste of time"

and I still do not believe that men and women can be good friends.

    maybe pao you.

Join to the last opinion. This is a immature, stupid topic.

There is no possible friendship between man and woman! The are always attraction or none.

Unless they are colleagues and they are both engaged, but I still suspect some mutual unspoken attraction.

There can be functional friendship between a gay man and a girl. I witness many of this.

Friendship between single man and single woman is dishonest. There must obviously occurs some sexual attraction (do you make friendship with horrible looking guys or girls>? Do you??)

This is an immature girls style. Actually "Chinese" style. I never heard in Western countries, that "hey, let's do friendship first!"

What the hell that supposed to mean? So we split the bill like friends? What if I like her. And she likes me too? I don't kiss or make love with my friends!!

This starts a dishonest approach, I don't believe this people will be ever able to be honest afterward either.

This is because some idiotic childish girl, cannot admit that they are looking for romance and love, they feel that would beneath them. They say to poor ugly guy they are making friends, they check out the guys, and it doesn't matter how intelligent or how superb friend material he is, is the girl would not like his appearance, she won't see him again.

So, she was looking for relationship, and romance. She was just lie about her intention.

I send to hell all of those who "wants to make friendship". Cannot see immature and dishonesty more clearly than by that :)

If I want to date with a girl, I ask for a date. I take them for dinner, usually pay (unless split if I never want to see them again) and sometimes I even bring flower! That is how romance starts. But friendship never. So, anyway, this is a stupid topic.
