The so-called Leifeng Spirit can't really survive careful examination (historical and psychological), i.e. the stories told about him are proven to be cooked. So, Leifeng represents better the memory of a haunting totalitarian regime which could make the "dehumanized" Leifeng a national icon.
Fashion is a good place to put Leifeng, Mao or the Red Star in, anyway, they don't really belong to altars.
I think Chinese excellent Samaritan is a pretty cool guy. eh feeds peasants and doesnt afraid of anything.
(Except maybe telephone poles.)
dress like a red guard?!? oh yeah!! Icons of the maoist bigotry never get old.
Plus, all the design of those super communist clothes is soviet, not chinese. They copied the soviet style....
