The summer weather is hitting Beijing already and we got some good promos during May and June to get things kicked off right!
Call us for more info.
If you've got access to YouTube, search up "Beijing E-Bike Tours" for some cool vids!
another way is to get a good bike and ride in the north. there you can get fresh air, get away from the crowds and traffic, get exercise and see parts of Beijing that most people don't even know exist.
good health required.
I've spent 5 years e-biking around Beijing and know the city fairly well, and our tours are planned so that they utilize areas where there are dedicated bike lanes. E-bikes are allowed in the dedicated bike lanes.Plus, it is an adventure tour package. It's not dangerous, but just like river rafting or rock climbing, all the elements of safety are packaged in.
We also require guests to sign a waiver before the tour. Travel insurance we recommend, but we leave it to the discretion of each individual guest. Most people coming to China already have their own travel insurance anyways.
It's a very safe way to travel around Beijing. If you're a lifer in Beijing or just touched down, i'd still recommend buying one if your going to be here more than 6 months.
If you're interested in trying one out, we do rent e-bikes as well on a day to day basis, with a free battery exchange every 2 days. (So you don't have to deal with charging it, etc. we swap the battery for you so you can enjoy trouble-free electric bike riding around Beijing.
oh, there isn't much left to OLD beijing.
better see it while you can.
Thank you very much for your input Saibo. We appreciate comments and suggestions that will make our tours better. Unfortunately, i looked into 3rd party insurance to cover foreigners on an electric bike, and because of their legal classification in China as being "electric-assisted bicycles" there is no company that offers this type of insurance.
It's like asking your insurance broker to sell you bicycle insurance...
If you are able to find an insurance company that covers bicycle riders insurance, please let me know.
All of our electric bikes also fall withing the legal responsible limits of an electric-assisted vehicle and travel at the same speed as a 21-speed bicycle. The are a convenient way to get around the city, but where never intended to win any land speed records.
As a Canadian managing this tour company, I believe that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and after operating our tours for 2 years, we still have a perfect safety record. With our attentive tour guides, our helpful assistant tour guides, our safe equipment and our choice of routes, we work towards being legally responsible and offering a fun alternative to seeing this historic city.
Please keep in mind Saibo that these are NOT motorized vehicles according to the Beijing Municipal Government and fall within the jurisdictions of electric-assisted vehicles.
Next time you get hit by a pedal bicycle, please try and ask them for their license, registration and insurance papers so you can start a claim with their insurance company. ;)
