My remedy has always been orange juice, cold towel on your head and some ibuprofen if it's really a high fever.
What the hell is "fire cupping?"
A fun little story... when I was 10 years old, I once got a big fever, almost 40 degrees. My parents insisted on giving me hot water and making me stay under blankets so that I would "sweat it out." Well, after I tried that for a while my fever spiked up to
about 41 degrees, I almost fainted. They got worried and took me to the hospital, but on the way as soon as some cool air hit me I dropped down to a normal temperature of around 38.5 or 39 degrees and a day later I was perfectly fine.
I don't care what Chinese parents tell you... don't cover yourself with blankets if you have a fever... it will make things worse. Cold towel on your head will help, and if you want to drink something warm, just don't drink anything hotter than 40 degrees,
you want the fever to go down, not up.
