Most of us poked fun at Jackson during his very public trials and tribulations (myself included, including on this website) but this is an absolute tragedy.
The guy was forced from a very young age to perform and deliver, being abused in the process by his father. He never had a childhood, and fell into a regressed state after becoming rich and successful in an attempt to regain what he never had.
Maybe he acted inappropriately with kids. Maybe he didn't. He was acquitted in court and all charges were dropped.
The man revolutionized music, single-handedly (or glove-ly) combining R&B with rock, soul and dance and bringing those formerly black-only genres to the mainstream. He broke MTV's color barrier, and tried to bring the global community together to share a sense
of universal humanity.
And by all accounts, he was the most hardworking, sweetest, sincere guy in show business.
He was one of a kind. Seriously. And the world will never, EVER see someone of his caliber again.
