What does one really need to make a house come alive? A pink playhouse? Sculptural curtains? An exo-skeletal table?
These quirky yet functional creations make up The Living Room, a new exhibition at The Annexe Gallery that presents works in various media by six romantically and artistically linked couples. Can artists bring fresh perspectives to the field of design? Can lovers teach us how to share our designs, spaces, nation? As they investigate the relationship between the domestic space and artistic expression, and transform everyday objects into functional art, these visual artists, designers and architects prove that home is where the art is.
Participating artists include Azliza Ayob & Kojek, Illi Farhana & Bebe, Johanna Varghese & Simon Keogh, Lisa Foo & Fabian Tan, Tsuji Lam & Yeoh Lian Heng, and Wong Min Lik & Wong Eng Leong.
