ZOOMIN' NIGHT: A4 Destroyer, rising stars Birdstriking, and Hot & Cold's Josh Frank to collaborate at this weekly experimental sound laboratory.
D-22, 8pm, 30/20 RMB (students)

GAY CHURCH: "Confess your sins," we're told, "or make new ones." No word if elderly priests and young alter boys are welcome at this new gay-themed Tuesday night event. We'll take our chances. Buy one, get one drinks until 11pm; house and funk soundtrack.

2nd ANNUAL BEIJING HOLIDAY PARTY: Better late then never, we guess, when it comes to helping migrant kids at the Miao Miao School via the donation of toys, blankets and other kid-friendly stuff. Chomp down on eats from Olas Tapas Cafe, the Mexican Kitchen, Lantung, Ganges and others with live music courtesy of Hua Acid Live, blues act N-Band, Out of Control and unspecified DJs. The Discounts: Live reggae, hip hop funk and dancehall from a visiting Canadian and his local band.

redoceanliner: Headlining quintet issue a potent brand of highly-technical, furious metal. We're particularly excited about the support, Bedstars, who caused quite a ruckus at their sloppy, drunken gig a fortnight ago, leading some to label them as a Junior Joyside.

Miax Jazz Trio: Acoustic gypsy jazz from a suave-looking foreign trio.
Enoteca, 8pm, free

NEW GENERATION BEIJING ROCK AND ROLL: Red Berry, Golden Egg Empire, Dirty Seed and well-scrubbed poseurs me灌me are scheduled to appear at the first of this quarterly event series designed to showcase some of the city's newest sonic talent.

The Verse: Thirteen-piece big band act squeeze into the tiny Gulou venue for what we anticipate will be a saucy night of table dancing and other hijinks.

Ashura: Bands from Sichuan's capital city are, not surprisingly, more laid back than their Beijing counterparts, emitting a happy-go-lucky blend of funk, reggae and frat boy rock. This band is no exception. Nuclear will support.
MAO Live House, 9pm, 50 RMB

GYPSY NIGHT II: Those nostalgic for Halloween would do well in heading to the NLGX venue for a night of Roma-themed festivities, from special drinks to the flamenco sounds of Shanghai act Swing Dynasty. Dress accordingly, hipsters.

Yugong Yishan, 10pm, 80/60 RMB (pre-sale)

DJ Simon Faure-Field: Soulful, deep and tech-house from the British DJ.
Zeta, 9pm, price unspecified

The Redbucks: The American bluegrass quintet's sound, according to their bio, brings to mind "the speed and force of a freight train combined with the sweetness of two lovers picnicking in a cherry orchard on a spring afternoon." Sounds like the perfect antidote to this shitty Beijing weather.
2 Kolegas, 10pm, 40 RMB
