PUNK GIG: Concussion, Discord, Soju Legion, 牙龈出血 and Gum Bleed are scheduled to throw down at this tiny Forbidden City-area venue. As an aside, we think Gum Bleed's debut LP, Balefire Juvenile, released last fall on Proletopia Records, was one of 2009's most progressive local records. Delving into Celtic punk, extreme metal and even goth, highlights include "Let Go," a collaboration with German Celtic punk act Mr. Irish Bastard; their take on the traditional American folk anthem "Red River Valley," featuring both clarinets and the mandolin, and "Utopia Song," a seven-minute experimental monster in the vein Between the Buried and Me and Venom.
