About World Cup 2010

One month of heaven for football fans is again upon us as the clock clicks down to the FIFA World Cup 2010, which is scheduled to kick off on Fri, June 11 in South Africa.

Everyone loves football and China is no exception.

Summer 2006 saw the city descend into chaos as both Beijingers and expats alike caught the World Cup Spirit, electrifying the city for a month as all eyes turned towards Germany to eventually watch Italy claim their fourth World Cup title.

This year sees 32 teams facing off for 64 games.

We'll try to keep this space updated daily with match and group ranking info, daily summaries and more.

And we want you to use it to argue, debate, hook up and otherwise enjoy the experience of watching the world's most exciting sporting event in the world's most dynamic country.

Have fun... and who knows: Maybe we can have a WLIB party to watch the Final on Sun, July 12.
