They are heroooos!!!! always saving the world in their movies. fuck yeah!! They fight against nazis, aliens, monsters, hordes of demons, decepticons, whatever.... They save your ass no matter your colour.
On the other hand, what does the second superpower fight against in its movies? Laowais and 洋鬼子.....
Well, taking this seriously, most of the world consumes american tv-series, movies and books... american culture, so when we meet american people, we have a common background a priori and this causes some empathy. They are close even being foreigners.
So many people say they "hate or dislike" American men, my guess is they personally had a bad experience with an American guy. We don't have exclusivity on bad relationships, all countries have good and bad people. As an American that lived in China
for many years I met just as many "bad" Chinese girls as I've heard about "bad" foreign guys...
If American guys are so bad, why do you see almost all of them with a Chinese girl? Just asking...
I agree! I avoid all foreigners every chance I got when there! Especially the young ones (under 35). So many are a piece of shit, can't find a job in their own country, but go to China and think they are kings because they make 10K rmb a month! These are the
ones giving most a bad name...
I feel the same about french people, and I am french.
An other thing that chinese people don't realise is that Foreigners living in China are not the same people as the one living in their own country!
A lot of them are business, or from rich families, and simply crazy students. These people are only a minority in their own country.
The only fact they are living in China shows they are different.
I'm not a big fan of french people even in my own country, but here, gosh, what a bunch of arrogant asshole (to be fair, I've met 2 or 3 good one in my 8 years living in Beijing).
And for the record, I love american movies, I like some of their "easy going" aspect, and I had a good opinion of American people before I met some of them in China. But again, I've never been to USA myself.
Talking shit about English teachers started as a manifestation of incipient classism by locals yearning for a more advantageous position in the social hierarchy, and perhaps also as an ill-conceived expression of indignance on the part of actually decent
English teachers who are nonetheless disadvantaged by the entirely undeserved preferential treatment received by certain groups, particularly superficially Anglophone "native speakers" (read: white people).
However, just like pointing out the counter-intuitively white supremacist implication of the epithet "white trash," pointing out the counter-intuitively anti-Chinese implication of "foreign trash" stinks of cuntish know-it-allism. Therefore, English teaching
remains fair game for trolling, regardless of whether an individual is actually an English teacher or not.
The OP is such an English teacher. Seriously. English teach that English teacher in his English teaching curriculum.
