Many men are still having sex in hiding and from a distance using pornography. Through prolonged use they consolidate neural pathways of disconnection with women through this fantasy culture which inflames their issues to receive love. Through the use of porn they begin to consciously see women as a purely voyeuristic, sexual object. They conceal and disguise their voyeurism as they constantly objectify every woman they see. Sizing them up, looking them up and down playing out fantasies.

The word intimacy is derived from the Latin; Intimus meaning Innermost. Men are still using porn to distract, conceal and deny ‘what is’ in their life. They blind themselves to ideas about what is happening inside with no ‘Innermost’ connection with themselves. The loving relationship with the man’s self is denied.

The Strong, Powerful, Loving Man does not use porn to distract himself from loneliness, isolation or confusion. He takes courageous steps on his journey to surrender and face what is happening inside him with a loving heart. To learn to love himself so he can truly love another with unafraid intimacy.

~ Peter Saxon

The etymology of pornography comes from from Ancient Greek πορνογράφος (pornographos), from πόρνη (pornē, “prostitute”) + γράφω (graphō, “I write”). It literally means depictions of female slaves.

Yet, perhaps owing to my appreciation and admiration of satire, kusoge, 恶搞, and campiness, I wholeheartedly reject all legal or ethical distinctions between erotica and pornography. I think it's more like the distinction between indie rock and pop music. Erotica and pornography are merely different genres with considerably different cultures of production.

So, pornography is just shitty erotica that tends to be phallocentric. But far from just letting pornographers off the hook, morally speaking, this puts erotic artists on the hook as comparatively sophisticated pornographers.

I think the common misconception is not necessarily that women don't watch pornography but that the negative affects: objectification of the opposite sex, conditioning of sexual expectations etc only happen to men.

I prefer doujinshi and manga. Animation companies haven't escalated production values for hentai works.

Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend or Inju Gakuen La Blue Girl, if I had to choose. I couldn't get interested in Bible Black.
