Pedantic perhaps, but everyone is infertile at birth!

it is also the unfair allocation of work load, differentiated standards, and lacking of appropriate incentives. Just because you are more competent and capable, you derseve working more and cleaning up other people's mess??

Taz, seriously, have you not learned yet the concept of civil disobedience? You need to learn how to politely accept work but then just not do it. Sure, do most of it. Do enough of it to be secure in yourself that you are doing your job. Do enough so that your manager is secure in him/herself that you are doing your job, but DO NOT work any harder than you will be rewarded for. Do not go beyond the call of duty for the sake of your company's bottom line. Do not put in more effort than you will recieve credit for! - After all, you will recieve no credit for it. Work harder ONLY when your efforts are recognised and rewarded, otherwise take it waaaay easier.

Look at it this way, the absolute BEST outcome of you working too hard without getting the proper credit is that others will pity you but admire your resolve and strength (their admiration plus a dime gets you 10 cents). What usually happens however is that they will see you as an easy target to offload their incompetance onto. You will be seen as "the strong donkey" that will carry the heaviest load while still being allocated the same food and water rations.

    Dont fall for it.

Well said @Alex. @Tara,it's just not necessary bad to be stressed with much workload that you are not provided incentive for. It could be a better experience for u to get used to carry those loads in case you happened to change a setting from which that workload will be recognized and payed for.
