hello everybody..i have been in Beijing for almost 3 years everything here is really good and life is great...however i am really bothered with one habit that really ruins my day whenever i go out home or office..am sure all of u kno what i am talking about..what else...of course its the spitting...why Chinese do insist on doing it...is it the weather ? i don't think so cause foreigners who lived here for more than 20 years still don't do it! i think Chinese should make a campaign to stop do this cause it ruins my walk everyday and am sure its the same for everyone>i suggest to make T shirts written on it "Chinese do not spit" or to make a law that makes it a crime and who does it should pay a fine> please don't be offended by this cause its what all expats think here in beijing

why dont you teach them how to manner one by one?

No, better yet, especially when you claimed to know, or at least represent, "all expats here in beijing", why dont you get all expats here in Beijing (Lee is not in Beijing, so he does not count) to go out there and "educate" them one by one?

better spit on the genitals of other person, like in the most of western porn movies

Hahahahaha ... brilliant ... but many of them dont spit, they just drool ...

Hmmm, recently, WLIB's forums have been only about MARRIAGE and SPITTING. What happened to you, people??? Even no brainers can come out with something better than this, alright?
OP, you say spitting around in Beijing is bothering, then I'd say, constantly reading the same old shit over and over again is 100 times worse than that!

I did ... but the discussions of "feminist" or "future female China leader" seem relatively mild ...

ok, If you are not the same troll that this week appeared here showing a queer fixation with this topic, what is your purpose with this thread? Because I´m pretty sure the most of the chinese in this forum don´t have that habit, and as you can see, they are tired of this topic... If you want to preach the western good manners, better learn chinese and try to convice chinese rednecks...but be careful, they can slap your face

It only upsets me in restaurants (particularly in the kitchen)

Which restaurant do you work in, so that I may avoid it?

and when a guy does it next to me on a plane and spits in a plastic bag. The stewardess changed my seat immediately.

Flight attendants are not allowed to say harden the fuck up, cunt.

Tissues and plastic bags are appropriate places to spit.

"Recently?" Try "always," @Cipherie, and stop acting like you remember when WLIB was good, like 1950s USA.

    Epic discussions are mostly brutal..

Please say this with a fake Nordic accent, @JulieZhu

hahaha, dando, is this the payback for your monocle??? You're right, since the day I signed up, it's been as bad as now.

Considering the circumstances, under which the monocle was dislodged from my eye after you chastised me for being too "cute," I must say that had I a mind to exact compensation from you, I would favor dinner and a movie. Let's dine at the Hello Kitty cafe and then wear some comfy pajamas and watch Sailor Moon.

  • Silje Linnerud

hahaha, don't make me "for the sake's of moon, I will wipe you out" you, dando! and Hello kitty got cafe??? eeeekkkk, how nasty. My beloved coffee in a hello kitty cup, such a nightmare. I am seriously offended.

Meh. At least "In the name of the moon, I shall punish you!" had a BDSM subtext. Now I'm offended. How did that happen?

  • WeLiveInBeijingRess

i'd just say u still didn't meet foreigners who do it ,they actually just lived 6-7 years, some r 2-3 years, they burp, spit, don't wait the traffic lights............and they love it, it's a bad habit of chinese ppl, some other asians do it too, some countries do something about it, china is big, so it's not a easy thing to control, but it is disgusting, defenitly
