Testing from iPad.
Does this mean that soon trolls like Loligne won't be able to crash threads anymore?
(continued) ... seems to have an issue with the Java script or something, on IE8 ... when I tried to insert img, a "fishnet" appeared on the screen and then I got the "error on this page" ... and cannot get out of it ...
(continued) ... it is also kind of creepy that whenever you guys make some new changes to the site, someone would visit my profile, e.g. Jo ... anyway ...
I just noticed that the "menu" has both an appearance and funtional issues, as shown below, the drop-down is appearing BEHIND the buttons etc, also, it does not STAY on the screen when my mouse wants to go down on it (heehee) ...
By the way, dont get too happy or excited, I actually had to write HTML code to insert the imags ... it is STILL not working
(continued) ... how can I ever put this mildly to you guys? hmmmm ...
The latest changes is getting bad-er and bad-er ...
I just randomly went to check out someone's profile, and instead of seeing her own "Description", I saw my own "Description" ... what happened?
give us a few minutes okay? haven`t finished the update yet

This happened because of 2 things: 1) Users on this site are actively trying to break forum threads by exploiting the editor and 2) IE6-7's z-index bug.
Blame yourself for 1) using old browser software and/or 2) being retarded.
C'mon Ole you gotta be kidding. The text editor exploit is a completely separate problem, and, I'll remind you, something I had predicted would happen as soon as you implemented the fucking thing. I hate to say I told you so, but... no, I like to say that. I told you so.
And while I hate IE, DD is hardly the only user with outdated browser software.

Well. It looks like it doesn't preserve formatting. Which is probably a good thing, since that was what was wrecking threads in the first place.
Yep, say goodbye to broken forum-threads etc. We're going for a complete replace of TinyMCE editor with the markdown editor. Our implementation still have some bugs for other browsers, but we're working on them.
Good deal. TinyMCE put too much power in the hands of lusers.
Markdown. ZOMG SO CLEVAR.
Getting down with markdown:
just some plain good old fashion paragraph
obviously need to do something about the blockquote shit... this doesnt look too nice.

Uncle X: Try uploading a image with IE8 again now. Make sure that your browser cache is emptied. (hit ctrl + f5 a couple of times)
... Ole ... since I have already been called every name of the book, including CEO, "retard" is actually mild, so if it gives you a better aim next time you take a piss, feel free, but it does not hide the fact many (if not all) of the things that I had reported were actually not working ...
... thanks Jo ... will test now ...
(continued) ... hahahaha ... no comment about that particular thread, as I said, it is never any of my biz, but it was in my way ... anyway ...
the "insert img" works fine now, but, there is no option to resize it ... can that be added?
also, will "insert media" be back?
Tempora: Yes, all members. Except the french guy =)
Dingdong: that's done automatically. Resize it yourself before you upload it.
Maturew: sorry but I won't delete a whole thread because one person finds it embarrassing. If there's anything in the thread that conflicts with the terms and conditions for this website, you may place an complaint referring to what and why.
Uploading images isn't working yet (hitting OK opens "http://www.weliveinbeijing.com/blog/uploadimage.rails" in another tab), but the interface itself is nice and tight, and not as exploitable as that TinyMCE function that used to give us access to your file system :)

The pic works and a lot easier to use!
Great =) We're working on a way to embed video as well, and I'm going to make some good guidelines on how to use the markdown editor formatting as well.
(continued) ... so, just wondering, any guarantee that it wont "ruin" the thread category and/or bubble page?
Dingdong: the goal is that user input will not break on output. Markdown makes this a lot easier, but there's some work left on places where the output is displayed. But it's already way safer/better than before.
>Not banning all forms of text formating.
Dingdong: Sorry but I'm not sure what you mean by patching your threads? Please elaborate or examplify.
Been working on some improvements, that will be deployed in the beginning of next week. Here's some of the changes:
- IE6: Fixed a bug where certain elements in the .uiFluidForm template gets scrolling if .indent is applied (.indent should only be appleid to div.wrap or input.button )
This bug occurred in the form on the login page in IE6, enabling scroll on an element.
- Fixed a bug in topBar in IE6 where a parent with float right containing parent with float left will use 100% width. Hard coded *width:600px; IE6 star hack.
Makes the elements in top bar look better. I also fixed some styling on the links in top bar that didn't get applied due to IE6 lacking support of
- Added Embed button to the WMD editor.
This makes it possible to apply embed codes without entering markup (using [embed] tags). Further, we're going to fix so the video will be shown in the preview box. Now we're only appending [embed] tag into the preview.
- Fixed broken styles on WMD editor in IE6 and IE7
The button bar didn't look good in IE6 and IE7. This is now fixed.
- Fixed JS check for appending iframe via createElement so it's used for
(continued) ... Ole ... as shown in the below screen shot from a few days ago, after Jojo added something into the thread (second one from top), ALL the other earlier threads in that category were "blocked out" (I cannot think of a better way to describe this), and the "patch" was to simply post "anything" in that thread (I just wrote a ".", which cost me about one hour to explain to Jojo who accused me of ruining her thread), and then it all went back to normal ... this has actually happened a few times in the past ...
... hope that helps ...
Aha =) yea with the old editor it was possible to break the markup. This markup doesnt allow ANY markup to be added directly, so this problem should not occur from now on.
(continued) ... actually, I am not too sure if it about the markup ... because, to the best of my memory, if I wrote a big chunk of text before I link to the video, this problem will not happen ...
