chocolate chip cookie dough (only pussies are afraid of salmonella poisoning)

Mackinac Island fudge (all glory of the Rusty Mitt!)

tiramisu (only the real shit, with mascarpone cheese)

    ...

Now I'mma fucking teach you fuckers how to make your own fucking ice cream, the angry way.

    You will need:

Milk (fresh, pasteurized, whole milkfat; I don't know if this works with UHT)

Flavor (fruit, sugar, tea, cocoa, whatever the fuck you want it to taste like; imagineer that shit)

Two plastic bags (it is crucially important that these bags are the high-quality kind with the resealable "zipper;" they need to be durable)

Ice (preferably crushed, but cubed is ok)

Water (unfiltered tapwater will do; you're not going to drink it, stupid)

Salt (no, this won't be used for flavor, you dumbass)

    Now do the following:

In the smaller bag, pour in the milk and flavorings. Make sure it tastes okay before you seal the bag. If it tastes like shit now, it's not going to get any better. In the bigger bag, add the ice, water, and salt. Put the smaller bag inside the bigger bag. Seal the bigger bag. Beat the whole thing like it owes you money.

    You heard me.

Slap it around like a red-headed stepchild. Just be careful not to cause either of the bags to tear. Like beating your wife or your children, you don't want to leave any visible signs of damage and provoke a call to the police or social services.

After a while, open the big bag. If the ice is still unmelted, you can use it again. Remove the smaller bag.

    Open that.

Eat what's in it and go fuck yourself.

I'm not, Kyle. I've never even actually tried making ice cream this way. I just know it works, BECAUSE SCIENCE. And it's similar to how it was done in Ye Olde Days.

The salty ice water maximizes surface area and minimizes temperature; the salt is only there to lower the freezing point of the ice water. Subzero temperatures cause the constituent particles of milk to separate and congeal into cream. The violent motion prevents ice crystals from forming in the milk.

I am an ice cream snob and I will not eat soft-serve from McDonalds or other fast food restaurants because I am pretty sure that one of the additives they use to firm it up is the stuff they used for drool in the Alien movies.

I'm not a fan of Haagen Daz, however. It's simply not worth the price.

I prefer Ben & Jerry's, Coldstone, or independent creameries.
