Great opportunity for an adventurous type!

Ordos is one of the richest regions of China. With a nominal per-capita GDP of US$14,500 in 2008, it is ranked ahead of the capital city of China, Beijing. It is extremely rich in natural resources, having one sixth of the coal reserve in China. The pillars of its economy are textile (wool), coal mining, petrochemicals, electricity generation and production of building materials. Ordos has been tagged for further expansion and development. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordos_City)

The opportunity is now open for a young and adventurous individual (male or female) to join a newly-opened 5 Star Hotel in Ordos City. In the role of Guest Relations Manager you will be expected to be visible to both guests and staff as your commitment to the hotel is not just to ensure the expectations of hotel guests are met, but to ensure that an adequate level of attention and commitment is being shown by all service delivery staff at all times. As such, you will be part Guest Relations guru, part trainer.

With or without training or professional experience in hospitality, you will need to be a real people's person. Able to communicate in English and ideally good Mandarin with people at all stations. Experience in customer services of any kind would be an advantage but we're looking for someone who simply has a passion for helping people and the ability to make a commitment to spending what will prove to be an amazing year or two in an area of China that most others will never get to see or experience.

Ordos is a 60 minute flight from Beijing and the opportunity to take 'holidays' back to the capital is completely feasable (but maybe not every weekend...) The role comes with accomodation and most living expenses covered, as well as a decent salary to spend on weekends back to Beijing!

If you are interested in exploring this opportunity, please forward a resume and cover letter that explains any relevant experience as well as your own personal reasons for considering such a role to ordos(dot)jobs(at)gmail(dot)com and we will contact you soon thereafter.
