I remember the years after 9/11, when my friends and I would commemorate the memory of the tragic attack by playing a game called "9/11".

In this game, one player is really drunk and not paying attention to one of the other players, who is also drunk, and has his arms spread out like the wings of an airplane. The guy who is not paying attention then gets slammed into, at full force, by the guy with his arms spread out like the wings of an airplane, who is also screaming "NINE ELEVEN" at full volume.

    The terrorists will NEVER win.

    Wanna some cliche comfort?

How cliche it is since it's been doing for 10 years.

Kyle, what you did and is doing is to trolling.

Agreed, @Star. This American is tired of the annual terror porn holiday. "In a post-9/11 world," life goes on. Sayeth irony: "rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated."

But I digress: I recall 9/11 as my political about-face. Before that, I was kind of a reactionary and maybe even leaning towards voting Republican (I bought into that "Al Gore thinks he invented the Internet" nonsense). When I watched CNN that morning, I remember thinking, "Gee, that sucks. I imagine what we do in response will be far fucking worse."

And I've been right left about everything ever since. This terrible prescience and being right about everything is getting really fucking depressing.

What Kyle is engaging in is not trolling, but loneliness.

    Thanks, Dando.

Seems I'll have to show off what I and friends I know have done to help 911 sufferers and victims.

We donated money, joined the related forums to talk with them victims, we made art pieces to memorize this day and show our sorrow, we translated their blogs to let more Chinese know what's going on there...such such, meaningless perhaps cuz the help is so tiny.

This is not a once-for-all thing, it's year by year, just as I know, people who really do things rarely talk big and judge others. Oh, the Hurricane in the states days ago seemed to be ignored by this site, does this mean the victims were ignored by people here too? Definitely not.I hope those who often play on this forum really mind their attitudes towards people whom they barely know about.

Something else I want to say is, I personally don't like asking about people's nightmare. Based on the experience of talking with many victims from any kinds of disasters, fairly amount of them don't want the tragedies to be repeated again and again like haunting ghosts never go. They want to move on, lead a bright life, like, on behalf of the deads.

As for 911, undoubtfully everyone (except the terrorists) learns things and hopes such tragedy never happens again in the future.

Everyone here knows of this, why should I bother to mention it? Maybe I should've added my reflections to  911 after my random line , then no one was gonna stir an issue.

It's a riff on a Chinese Internet meme, Kyle. But I know you're not the type to take it personally.

But yeah. I got too much time on my hands too. If I've seemed especially salty today it's because I skipped my afternoon hash-tokes and I'm editing an abridged book on Chinese UN peacekeepers. It's about as much fun as a sandy cunt.

Jesus fucking Christ it's 50 pages of tales of Chinese cops filing paperwork and following bureaucratic procedures.
