An old legend said that the greek women from Escitia tired of be men´s slaves, they made a plot against them.
One night, during a big celebration, they put drugs inside the drinks. And when they were knocked out, they blinded their eyes. In this way the women were free of the beauty chains. They nevermore heard a compliment about their beauty, the end of the flattery, but also, they nevermore were judged for their beauty instead their abilities, skills, intelligence...... and they nevermore heard men´s orders.....
-Hume talks about this in a short essay about the marriage-
Jorrit kind of nails it. It's a false analogy. Yes, women have a disproportionate amount of their value based upon their looks and something should be done about this but this is shit a shit argument that tries to point out the inequality in a really bad way so that it ends up discrediting itself. The author needs to go back to rhetoric 101.
