Hi Folks,

I'm looking for new dance locations for the tango argentino community in Beijing. For those who have no clue what Tango Argentino is, it's a popular social dance, which is danced all over the world and now taking Asia by storm. Hier is the Wiki page for those who want to know more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argentine_tango.

And a master performance video from 2010 Seoul Tango Festival: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMjU5NTU0NTg4.html

Currently, there is an active tango argentino community in Beijing with around 100 people. And we are growing. There are classes on different levels, workshops with argentine teachers and regular dancing parties (called milongas).

And for the milongas, we are looking for new locations in Beijing.

The place should...

- be at least somewhere within the fourth ring.
- offer a stylish (less overly fancy) atmosphere (restaurants, club, galleries etc). A bar serving drinks would be great. Dancing makes thirsty!
- be either available from 9 pm until midnight (or longer) any weekday or in the afternoon from 14-18 on Saturday or Sunday.
- offer space for at least 20 people or more.
- have a decent sound system. No big expectations here, a couple of boxes and an amplifier will do.
- ideally having a plain wooden floor suitable for dancing with highheels. Even tile floor could also work.
- have no noise-sensitive neighbours.

The financing concept is subject to negotiation, entrance/rental fee or via consumption of drinks. We are non-profit and only care about dancing. Therefore revenue could be all used for the rent.

So if you know about any places in town, which might be a good match for the above mentioned criteria, please let me know. It doesn't matter whether you are interested in an one-time event or a long-term partnership.Just drop me a mail at humphrey_x@yahoo.de. You can also contact me if you are interested to learn argentine tango. It's a life-style!

Cheers,

Ricardo
