I don't think Steve Jobs personally "approves" any apps. He likely didn't hear about this until the story broke, if he's even heard about it at all. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Apple likely doesn't care about the moral implications of any of its app approvals/disapprovals. Their refusal to permit explicitly pornographic apps has nothing to do with them being concerned about children being exposed to boobies or whatever - they just want to keep getting that family-friendly dollar.

Steve Jobs can eat a warm bowl of dicks, in any case.

Desmond, does your church not have a stance on homosexuality?

  • High Priest

Wow, Moming, nice shot. My Church doesn't have stance, but the Bible has, we stick to the Bible and we let it speak by itself.

There are those who like to say that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality.  Various verses are cited (out of context) and the verses that people use to show that homosexuality is wrong are explained away.  The world wants to change God's words and meanings into something more suitable to its sinful desires.  Nevertheless, the truth stands:  The Bible condemns homosexuality as a sin. Let's look at what it says.

Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."1
Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"
1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper

Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the bible.

Interesting Desmond. Per your 1 Cor. 6:9-10, homosexuality is as bad as heterosexual fornication, idol worship, extra-marital relationships, stealing, greed, excessive drinking, and swindling.

So, it seems that homosexuality is only as bad as everything else that humans typically do. It seems like behavior that one might just shake a finger at and go about his way (if he was a man of the bible, which most people are not).

Personally though, I say god bless the homosexuals and everyone else who doesn't have kids, because they're not contributing to the depletion of the earth and the detriment of mankind.

In any case, pathologizing homosexuality is abhorrent. Anyone who thinks of homosexuality as a disease or mental disorder obviously suffers from a more serious problem: homophobia. And as we know, homophobia is less a fear of homosexuals as it is a fear of one's own homosexual potential.

From an evolutionary standpoint, homosexuality is a pretty major disadvantage isn't it? What are the benefits in a person choosing a lifestyle that doesn't encourage reproduction? That's not enough to call it a "disease," but I feel it's at least a case against it being genetic or inherited.

If homosexuality was genetic, it should have been weeded out of existence long ago, just because you can't really pass the homo-gene on to your kids if you don't have kids... you can't ass-rape a guy till he gets pregnant or impregnate another woman no matter how hard you can squirt. Only in the last few decades could gay people have a baby together artificially.

Bisexuality is another issue though. I can think of several benefits to bisexuality... all women know how hot guys think it is when you 69 another girl...

Adolpho, you are right. What makes difference between religion and science is that some phenomenon can be well explained in science whereas in religion some are not. That's where faith comes in. Science doesn't talk about Miracles, doesn't it? So it's true that the Bible talks about geocentrism.

I.The sun and the earth in Joshua 12:12-13:

    - What was stopped, the sun or the earth? As you mentioned, we agree that it is the earth that goes around the sun.  One can consider that the Biblical Writer used a common language of his time to describe science issues.  Actually even nowadays we still speak of the sun rising or setting despite our current knowledge of rotation (earth movement).

Notice that I am the one who underline the last part of the verse.  The phrase “did not hasten”

seems “to point to a retardation of the movement so that the rotation required forty-eight hours rather than the usual twenty-four.”  So this can be considered to have been a delay in rotation of the earth for one extra day not only three hours.  Some astronomers notice that “one full day is missing in our astronomical calculation” up to now.  One thing is that by a divine miracle a day was prolonged.  If we agree that God the author of the universe is able to control the same universe then we can believe that such thing could not be impossible for Him to perform.

Further reading can be found in  Gleason L. Archer Jr., Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties (Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 1982, pp. 161-62.)

Homosexuality isn't a new think Adolpho, in the the same book of Joshua they talk about the Benjamite tribe as the tribe that started this trend and that's in the old testament.

but still i don´t know which part of the bible are the sentences that support the Pope's Infallibility or hide pedophile priests

Pedophile Priests are sinners like others, the Bible doesn't condomn such evil thing. Pope isn't a saint and that's why the Bible doesn't support much celibacy in priesthood.

@Tuco, the Holy Spirit postponed Paul’s preaching there. He would go there near the end of his (Acts 18:19-21) second missionary journey and returned for extended ministry on his third journey.

Dear, the nature is ordered, it has been created so. Changes that men have brought to it has brought too much harm than good. So according to the nature, man was meant to bed a woman. What comes after is a disorder.

Dear Ami, why we do people say this person is mad and needs to be brought to the psychiatrist? It's because this person is thinking in different way with normal people. He doesn't have logical thinking...

Ami, I believe that each human kind, be it gay or straight, needs respect, love and care. I've got gay friends, we spend time and share different ideas on different issues. I guess we have the same point of view here, not to discriminate them, not to look down upon them, not to cast them away. But that doesn't change the view that homosexuality  goes against the nature! Go tell a Japanese person that building earthquake-proof houses is unnatural and a sign of disorder. Your definition of nature is way off and wholly unscientific; nature simply means anything in existence, and it's rather silly to say that it's always ordered! Things created by man are not unnatural or supernatural, they are merely new facets of the natural world.

And the fact still stands that there are myriad examples of homosexual behavior in the animal kingdom.

You're hiding behind an illusion of scientific rationale to explain an irrational dislike for a certain type of people. Again, let me remind you that even your namesake, the Archbishop Desmond Tutu, equates homophobia with racism. Both are examples of disliking or distrusting someone because of a factor that is not in their control. gay people can stop being attracted to the same sex the same as black people can change the color of their skin.

My argument did so prove that the parameters of heterosexual attraction are influenced by historical trends and changes in aesthetic standards. That people of different ethnic groups have different standards of beauty is proof enough that even some aspects of heterosexual behavior are partly learned through socialization. Some people like fat chicks and some people like thin chicks. You wouldn't say that the person who likes thin women is unnatural or against the order established by God, even though in the old days fat women were considered more desirable for producing children. Why isn't this clear?

  • High Priest
    High Priest wrote:

Well Dando, there's no dislike in my statement toward homosexual, skim again you can see that. As much as I don't condomn discriminating our fellow gays, that doesn't make change my view on creation. Many scholars have failed to prove from scriptures that their point of view in this matter have convincing facts. I strongly state,"It's just wrong".

Many high profile voiced themselves on this issue on how people were treating these fellows. I've got my gay american friend here, who doesn't wish to visit his family his entire life because his dad, who is from the Baptist Church, couldn't just stand to learn his son has  become a gay. He told me his day came with a gun and if he didn't escape he would have been shot.

Racism, Prejudice, discrimating gays, both go against tolerance. But tolerating something doesn't mean what we tolerance is right!

Some people like fat chicks and some people like thin chicks. You wouldn't say that the person who likes thin women is unnatural or against the order established by God, even though in the old days fat women were considered more desirable for producing children. Why isn't this clear?

Not clear Dando. Chick, fat or slim it's chick. It's like too salty food and not too salty food, it's food Z Dando. In Tonga, people don't pay attention to slim girls, fat means beauty. For them when it comes to nitty gritty...it's for fat ladies.

Pathologizing a human behavior as unnatural or a sign of a disorder is a sign of disgust. Saying that something is wrong when it clearly doesn't influence or impact your life is clearly a sign of intolerance, and hiding your disgust behind an old book is no excuse.

Americans once quoted Biblical passages out of context to defend slavery. If I said black people were inferior to white people, but then backtracked and said I don't hate black people, you'd still be (justifiably) insulted.

And I'll repeat myself yet again, because you're being obstinate: there are gay animals, and even heterosexuals have different acquired tastes. A chick is a chick, you say, but for some, a person is a person, regardless of gender.
