Hi friends,

As far as I can search on the net, there is no psychology clinic especially for foreigners in China. I would like to know whether you foreigners need any kind of psychology service when you are in China? And how do you get the service when you need it?

My career interest is to offer a better life solution to people who are suffering from mental unhealthy situation. I am eager to hear comments and suggestions on that from foreigner's side.

Thank you in advance for your feedbacks! ^ -^

Best Wishes, Angela

Go to Beijing United Family Hospital -北京和睦家医院 - near the Lido Holiday Inn

I saw a psychologist there a while ago, a really cool older Canadian guy who was extremely helpful. There is a staff of psychologists there but I just saw the one guy and because I had to pay out-of-pocket I have not been back. They cannot prescribe medication (truth be told, this was my purpose), but the value of laying all your pent up fears and anxieties on a professional ear is not to be underestimated.

If you want drugs, you will be referred to another doctor.

there are few choices in Beijing on this one. I know that there are some foreign shrinks around however, unless they are working on a sliding scale, they tend to be up near 1000 rmb an hour. so no thanks.

Honestly, I am glad to hear about this. Someone needs to step up.

There was a foreign guy I met 2 weeks ago, he asked me where the closest embassy was. He wanted to petition in front of an embassy, any embassy, for no reason.

If I knew that a clinic for mentally ill existed in Beijing, I would have pointed him to that and said it was an embassy.
