I will think you are stupid if I see you with the LV one. I will only laugh at you if I see you with the pink one. If you sell your iphone and buy a 300 RMB Nokia, I will respect you.

    莫名:bite me!

Sally,  ok.. I do love LV, but not in that color..   I don't know if LV made this kinda accessory for Iphone4, hopefully it is not a knockoff one..  otherwise, you'd better choose pink one...

So that's how you spoilt, one-child-policy, princess-syndrom chinese chicks are wasting your life with, right?

    Pathetic....

I strongly support this amusing emergency HELP!!!! thread...I suggest that the 楼主 forget about the name brands and current trends and just look at the cases for what they are and face the facts--speck candy shell is a LOT more fun than solid hot pink.

And to those self-aggrandizing hypo's using words like 'unfettered' and 'commodity fetishism', uh...I HOPE you're joking.

John, specking of LV.. It's not like only Chinese love LV.. I do think original color with LV logo is quite classic but this brand is ruined by knockoffs in China ... Chinese is "so clever" to imitating things I guess.. therefore, I heard LV shop only give purchase limitation to Chinese, because they just afraid they sold one to Chinese and would come up heaps of fake ones... Well, I guess it is really a personal matter tho. There are many pretty cool brands too..Just this thread is particular mentioning about LV..

    Hahahahahaha ...

阿惠同学 ... 莫明 ... which Nokia model is 300RMB?

John Constantine ... as expensive as Vertu, it is not popular and hence not noticeable ... you might as well use China-made iPhone4 (or called Phone4?) ...

  • Jenelyn Tambago

THIS?? IN TECHNOLOGY?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING??????

This is like my ex classmates who said she wanted to study IT because she liked to chat on msn....

anyway, you should go for a while one with a nice girly pattern, both are not good.
But if it MUST be one of this, get the pink. The LV one for me is already old fashion and well...ugly

DD, the kind that Kongers wouldn't be caught dead with. I think the Nokia 6210 would be suitable, but it's a little big. Maybe the 1100?

  • 叮噹叔叔 (令狐叮噹)

    ...

Hahahahaha ... with "Kongers", you mean HK folks, right? Well, as as all know, HK is fairly multi-cultural, so you have in fact just included people from all continents, esp the thousands of maids from Phillipines, Thailand and Indonesia (and recently, fresh blood from southern China, due to growing popularity and need of learning Mandarin) ... I cant say for sure that none of them use cheap phones, but I am sure there is a group using cheap phones :)

  • Minger
    Minger wrote:

But DD, do the other Kongers refer to that group using cheap phones as "not Hong Kongese"?

Do you like the term "Kongers"? I'm considering between that and "Cantongeese", since they sound like birds.

  • 叮噹叔叔 (令狐叮噹)

    ...

Hahahahaha ... well, I "left" HK for Oz in Jan 94, and although I had visited (or went back to) HK a few times, never had I stayed there for more than a week, so I cannot honestly say that I still know, or am in touch with, the culture of the city ... in other words, I am OUT ... heehee

However, as I had said before, HK itself is fairly multi-cultural, and unlike major cities in China such as BJ and SH, the "original" HK folks who had lived in this city for many generations (we call them 香港原居民), if there is any, is only minority, in other words, majority of people in HK are not "native" HK folks (heehee, again, I cannot help but remember that comment made by "tanning salon Yuki" a few months ago) ...

Another point ... since it is too easy for anyone to freely go in and out of HK (except people in mainland China), and more so, it is possible for anyone to become HK residents (after seven years), so the culture (or subculture?) is that most people are used to "accepting" the possibility that any stranger in Mong Kok or Central, regardless of race and otherwise, might in fact be a "local HK", imported or otherwise ...

So ... I honestly dont know for sure if they actually group or categorise people by the kind of "discrimination" that you had mentioned, but the truth is that such "discrimination by superficial items" does exist in HK and many parts of the world ... and if one is "different", they do get stared, so my cheap China made K-Touch did get a few stares when I was there, heehee ...

Personally, I dont mind any of these terms you have used, there is just not an "official" one ...
