During the redesign of this site appeared a box on everyone's profile called "stats" that let's everyone know how much messages were written in your guestbook and how much you wrote back (which was already visible in the guestbook anyway), but does the same thing for "private" messages, which then became a little less private.

It would be great when this site rolls out new features or redesigns that:

    1. they could make an announcement about it and tell the users (especially when things that used to be private are now public to everyone).

    2. roll out features that are actually interesting and engaging to the users rather than promoting voyeurism... (but this is only personal preference).

Well basically I would love to have an idea of what you guys intend to do with this website. Did you suddenly realize you had more to win into enforcing the "dating" aspect here or is there a profound reflexion on how knowing how many messages people have sent actually encourages social behaviors in here? Or is it just to help people spot fake profiles?

Get rid of the private messages thing. I can only assume it is a programming error that led you guys to make private message information public, I mean c'mon, PRIVATE, right? But to encourage discussion, I'd love to see a count for how many posts people actually make in the forums. All other forums (phpbb and whatnot) have a counter for posts that a user makes. If you wanna publish stats, publish that.

I am suprised about my own privacy data though.

I hope that next move of this website would be to publize the messages I wrote, then it would help to promote my lascivious image or to show off based on my pedant psychic.

i support "Stats"...both guestbook and "private" messages,..i think it is good for some simple and pure people (especially girls :))...the stats only show the "private messages "quantity ..no the content..it is ok...A clear conscience is a sure card....don't be afraid...^^

add the stat of hours on line since the profile creation also would be nice, then we can realize that maybe we have been in this website around 800 hours in one year :S

Oh, one thing about the stats, is it possible to distinguish the number of "replies" from "initial PM" (cannot think of a smart word to call it)?

    Hum .... so .... seriously...

Among all the critics that have emerged from the last modifications on the website, the only one to which we get a reply from the team is that the gray scale is for the mourning day and that it only works on IE because it's a directX script....

I guess, this was certainly the most very top important thing to reply to... rather than explaining why private data is not that private anymore...

I gave up on so many things about the site. So long as i keep posting threads and can get winks on my profile at times, though most annoying i find male peeps, that is enough for me on the site. The guys can change whatever they deem fit.

Personally, I don't give a flying fuck if people judge me by my stats, but I can understand how spammers would feel about this. On the other hand, who like's spammers? ;-)

Anyways, we'll remove private messages for now, then add privacy settings for this late so you can choose if you want it or not.

Thanks Kent, it's not that I actually really care what info it gives about me (not much), just not fond of the way it was done, and thinking that this is plain useless when I think so many other useful improvements could be done.

Hahahaha ... I was just checking the "stats" of a few girls that I know (and some that I dont), and just when I thought "hell, how come they received hundreds of PM. but did not seem to have replied one?" ... and when I checked my own, it reads "received xxxx PM", but the "reply" is missing ... I must be damn attractive, right?
