I am looking to travel to undeveloped (yet) sites in China.  I enjoy mountains, rivers and natural scene in China. Anyone has any recommendation?

Xishuangbanna if you like it wet, jungle and steamy (with a few caves).. you can trek through undeveloped river creeks with the occational hut drying bamboo on it's roof.

Otherwise, Songtsam/Yunnan north, mountains, rivers, monkeys.. just exquisite.

Tibet and Xinjiang has a lot to offer, too. Beautiful mountains, rivers and lakes. Very underdeveloped and great for outdoor sports lovers.

Arrive, then plan. Planning is optional! :)

China being so big, there are endless undeveloped tourist sites. Starting with the northwest - Xingjian, Qinghai and Ningxia - to the West - Tibet and western/norhwestern Sichuan, to the less explored south of Guizhou and Hunan.

As for Xishuangbanna and Yunnan in general - this province is the most popular among backpackers in China, so unless you get yourself well prepared you will meet other tourist all over.

Frankly speaking, if you want a more serious answer, be a bit more specific with what you are looking for.
