    Hey hey,

    I'm learning this poem:

    (王之涣)
    登鹳雀楼

    白日依山尽,
    黄河入海流。
    欲穷千里目,
    更上一层楼。

I think the third line means something like "I wish to have a better view", but I'm a little confused... cause 穷 means "poor", right? How does it fit in there?

    Any ideas?

    best, Tao

Hahahaha ... 穷 means "poor" of course, but it also means "use up", or "exhaust" ... 千里目means seeing thousand of miles away ... so, 欲穷千里目means "if you want to see everything within thousand of miles" ... does that help?
