Hahahaha ... dont we all know ... being a small population, I dont believe there is much we can do, but I did have a few funny "light bulbs" about this"

    1. Assuming five yuan is not much to a lot of people in China...

The law should state that if someone is spotted doing such disgusting act in public, he/she should pay 5 yuans to the person who had spotted him/she ... as well as any people around him/her, which can be a lot of people ... and most people would not mind earning 5 extra yuans ...

    2. Well ... this one is a bit more emotional ...

We can assume that most people dont spit in their own home or room, so the government should teach the general public that this country is their home, and if they dont spit in their own apartment "home", they should not spit inside their country ...

Heehee ... just something I thought about when my mind was bored ...

Hahahaha ... just some silly little ideas, mainly for fun ...

I have got another one ... as we all know, Chinese likes their "face", so if any of us should see anyone "going to" perform such act in public, we can say something to stop him/her, e.g. something like "havent you learnt anything from school", or "havent your parents taught you anything" ... however, if you happen to run into someone with a really bad temper, you could get yourself into a lot of trouble ... or if you happen to run into someone with skin as thick as mine, not just in wont work, it might even backfire ... and you have been warned ...

    It's 6:30 ... gotta prepare dinner ...

As long as they're not chewing tobacco or hacking up green-grey lung butter, I think it's a relatively innocuous habit, along the lines of nose picking or ass-scratching.

I usually do it soon after I exit a restaurant, particularly if I ate a lot of dairy.

Chinese people only care about money and are only afraid of authority.

Dispatch 10000 军警 to Beijing and fine everyone spotted spitting 1000 RMB or 5 days in re-education camp, then people will stop doing that disgusting thing quite quickly. And carry on that campaign for at least 20 years and we will have a spitting free zone in Beijing.

Mainland chinese only learn something when there is external pressure (see olympics) . Manner and ethics were not taught properly the past 60 years on the mainland.

Hahahaha ... Blacky, no spitter is ever worth your trouble for getting into a fight, they are simply not in the same class ...

Being that Chinese are very sensitive to "insult" (if you want proof, just look at this forum), next time you see something like this happen, you could say something rude (or swear to them) in Chinese and they will not suspect you being the one saying it at all ... hahaha ... I just love my evil self, when I am bad, I am very, very good ...

  • Hans Christian Eriksson
The baseball players are doing it in the playground they are playing, and they do it in a nice way . and the spit stop there.

I am doing business here. Last time my supplier invited me for a hot pot dinner. I so surprised to death when my supplier who is a big boss, spat between her seat and the table we sat around, unbeleivable but true in a 200 seats restaurant fully furnished and floored with beautiful tiles

  • Joakim Berg Solum
This just reminded me of a time I was in high school and just starting to drive... I rolled down my window, driving on the highway, and spat out. The watery discharge barely left my mouth before the wind picked it up and carried it upward, straight onto my cheeks and eyes... almost crashed into the car in front of me because I couldn't see out of one eye!

But yes, spitting indoors, seriously, what the fuck? How in any way can anyone think that is acceptable? Why not just pull it out and take a piss on the floor while you are eating too to save yourself the hassle of using the bathroom or holding it in, god forbid? Or would that be unfair to women?

Hahahaha ... why not? Laughing helps make one look younger, and hell, I look younger than Jon Gu ...

About what Jon said ... first of all, I am glad to say that Jon had not forgotten his root, hahahaha ...

We would often see drivers (private vehicle, bus, taxi, and let's include people riding motor cycles and bicycles) spit in all kinds of direction, but no one ever got into the kind of "sticky" situation (... sorry guys, got the urge to throw up for some reason) like Jon had, I think what Jon needed is to find a good master to learn the art and skill of spitting ... and then maybe he could be the only chance for Team USA to win gold in the competition ...

Jon ... taking a piss indoor (not in the designated area) might just be a bit extreme, but there is a good chance that soneone is doing it, let's hope that you would never see it ...

  • 叮噹叔叔 (令狐叮噹)

As always, I was in the toilet minding my own biz, and then another idea popped up ...

In Hong Kong, public parks are rare to say the least, and often people would walk their dogs inside those parks, and sometimes those little darlings would have the need to take care of business. In order to keep the park clean for most people, there would be some sand pits (or dumping grounds) where the canines can drop their waste.

So my brilliant idea is to build some "designated spitting holes" with a big sign saying "spit here" (sand pit would be a bad idea when it snowed), maybe even making it into a fee-paying service so that more people would be employed ... and with holes like that, it will even help the drainage when it rains or when the snow melts ...

What do you think? Ahhh ... got another "need to biz", I can feel another brilliant idea coming up ...

it is a matter of education and it should be deal with, one day i was in a pretty good restaurant where you can meet people from different class and it is not the kind of restaurants where you could witness this kind of behaviour but i did, a chinese guy was eating and just spitt on the flour it was disgusting and totally out of respect for the people eating next to him

Just got dragged to the gym by you-can-guess-who because she believes that smaller is better, although to this date, I still think that bigger is better ... hahaha ...

Anyway, just want to report that while we were there, we repeatedly heard someone making that familiar "kart-too" noise, and when we turned around, we saw a twenty-something (or a thirty-something) jogging on a treadmill ... we were about a few meters behind him, the floor area around him seemed quite "dry", so we can only imagine that he either spat on the ground in front of the treadmill, or ON the treadmill itself ... after about 5 or 10, one of the trainers came out, talked to him, pointed at something on the ceiling (maybe a CCTV) and that guy walked away ...

Now ... my disgusting ideas ...

    1. As we all know, most people do not like to be put to shame ... so I was thinking, if anyone is caught spitting, his family members (parents, spouse, siblings and any dependents) should wear a big sign (at work and/or at school) saying "my [something] spat at [address] at [date & time]"

    2. Expanding on the word "swallow" from WebSlave ... this is really disgusting, and you have been warned... the spitter should be penalised to eat his/her own spittle in public ...

... or if humiliation does not work ...

    3. Being that everyone wants to have a chance to travel ... especially overseas ... the immediate family members should be banned from leaving China permanently and that should scare a lot of people ...

    * wa ... har har har ... har har har har har har ... kart-too *

Sept '08 was the launch party to introduce the brand -- not sure of the attendance, maybe 150-or-so.

We were really small back in Mar '09 -- about 13,000 members -- and were surprised at the turnout of about 300. The outdoor party in June didn't fare so well during the day (it rained) but a few hundred showed up to watch the bands inside at night.

And the most recent one was pretty crazy: I was manning the door all night and didn't have time to breathe from 9-2am. Maybe 400 people, but I'm not sure.
