what is the most impression of AVATAR ? what do u want to do after that movie.
for me, except that pop topic of "its the sample of a chinese social thing", the most thing i want to do is just losing weight...haha
see those avatars, their stature is slim, without any fat, flexible.
my colleague said : we should lose weight, then sport
i said : choose climbing trees. you dont see they climb trees most of their lifes? we should find a big tree first!
    :)

I do not think most Chinese people will understand this movie, or you can just be an audience and enjoy the fantastic scenes brought by the movie, but most people in China will not reflect their life style or value. I do not identify with all thoughts in this movie, but at least it shows that those westerns are trying to convey some universal values all around the world.
China and its people are far lagged behind.

  • Renate Pedersen

That is just a fact, do not avoid this fact.
This movie absolutely does not want to show complicated plot, but want to convey some ideology to the whole world.
If you can not understand, it does not matter.

What I most wanted to do? Strangle the director. With a lead pipe. I will make that possible.

Yes, the plot was irreparably cliche, but there were *plenty* of little things they could have done to make it a half-way decent film, e.g. play up the emotional (and possibly physical) distancing of that guy from his real body, have more angst over the wheelchair (and dead brother) thing, give that hot pilot chick more ass-kicking scenes (and background story), have the alien girl's fiance not get over his feelings of betrayal so readily... simple loose ends they fixed by killing everyone off at the end.

So, yeah. James Cameron, you and I have a date in a dark alley. I might let you live, but only because you plan to make a "Battle Angel Alita" movie. You'd best make it GOOD.

I am completely with you on this one. Though the special effects and visuals were stellar, I was largely unimpressed by the plot. There were a few original ideas, but what was up with the whole eradication of the indigenous theme...this is something that echoes through history. We don't need a reiteration...
