Chengdu: Not all about Pandas

Posted by thechinaguide on 21. Oct 2013

Everyone knows Chengdu is famous for Pandas. The Giant Panda Breeding Research Base is the perfect place to watch these docile animals in their own habitat, but there are also many other reasons to visit Chengdu, one of them being Chengdu People’s park.

The park has a peaceful lake lined with lush greenery and boats dotting the water. But the main reason to visit this park is for the people watching. This park is crowded everyday with locals singing, dancing, practicing calligraphy, and playing Mahjong.

The liveliest place of all is the People’s Park Teahouse. It is a relaxing place to sip on some traditional Chinese tea and practice your Chinese with the locals, if you are brave enough. It is here the locals join everyday to chat and just enjoy each other’s company.

The China Guide is currently offering tours to any of Chengdu’s famous sites and parks. For a full-range of their tour options, visit or email to start customizing your tour today.
