Wanderlust, Ice Cellar (昼夜售冰) and Birdstriking to perform at this weekly platform for innovation and experimentation.

Pierre Brahim Trio: Bebop, bossa nova and funk, among other variants of the jazz canon, from the local trio.

Two of Generation 6's most promising bands, garage rock act Careless and post punks Old Fashion, will support the GBOB China winners. Guai Li: Regularly cited as favorites by an impressive list of their peers in this city's art and music community, this female-fronted quintet continues to tear holes through Beijing with their visceral live performances and stellar musicianship. Their signature sound of angular guitars flecked with noise and feedback paired with off-key vocals, quirky time signatures, abrupt breakdowns, children's toys and the occasional Patti Smith cover somehow manages to sound machinelike, surreal and disorienting at the same time. Rock and roll trio 24 Hours, the Offset: Spectacles and garage rock Careless will support.

Mono: Japanese instrumental post rock quartet (pictured above) use a plethora of instruments (guitars, synthesizers, glockenspiels) to create giant slabs of cinematic sound, reportedly making audiences cry in the process. Their fifth record, the Steve Albini-produced Hymn to the Immortal Wind (Temporary Resistance Limited, 2009) utilized a chamber orchestra and received near universal acclaim. Protean sextet G-ELEVEN, who meld elements of blues, pop and rock and roll into a smoldering package -- not jazz like every single English-language media outlet in Beijing parrots, will also perform.
