SHANGHAI, Oct 23 - Courtesy of Split Works, the same team who brought you Ghostface Killah, Diplo and Handsome Furs (as well this upcoming month's Owl City tour), acclaimed indie rock darling Andrew Bird is coming to both China and Singapore.
Since releasing his first solo record Music of Hair in 1996, the songwriter/multi-instrumentalist (and sometimes New York Times blogger) rose to fame with his band Bowl of Fire and has since gone on to release five solo records.
Having performed with the Squirrel Nut Zippers, Ani DiFranco and Final Fantasy, the 36-year-old American is best known for his eclectic influences (1920s jazz, garage rock, Hungarian Gypsy music) as well as his layered and complex approach to both songwriting, recording and performing live.
His most recent release, Noble Beast, was released last January to near universal critical-acclaim.
