WE LIVE AT D-22: Tonight we pair up with Wudaokou live music venue D-22 to present a showcase of four fresh young Beijing bands (24 Hours, the Reason, Birdstriking, the Flyx) that we feel are not only going places, but are a breath of fresh air in this city's increasingly-overcrowded and imitative underground music scene. If you're not a fan of live music, feel free to join the friendly WLIB Team in quaffing 10 RMB beers from 8-10pm and eating delicious, low-priced wieners from Crazy Dogs, the hot dog shop located right next door to the club.

Afrokoko Roots: This 15-piece fusion band performs a blend of Afrobeat originals and reggae classics. The rainbow coalition (members hail from the Philippines, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Burundi, the States and China) contains a four-piece horn section and a dance team as well. Reggae act Skarving will support.

Mochipet: Bringing together a medley of heavy metal riffage, avant-garde influences and hip hop (and dub, too, for a killer remix of Michael Jackson's "Thriller") the California-based musician lands in Beijing for the third date of his China mini-tour. Having colloborated with electronic scene fixtures Daedelus and Kid 606, hip-hoppers Mikah9 and Jahcoozi and a smattering of respected experimental and techno musicians, his sets are known for their incredible diversity, range and experimentation. The inclusion of Beijing's own Dirty Party crew (Sulumi, iLoop and New Wave producer LIman) make this a quality display of electronica's top talent.

Falcongate: Hungarian quartet take the most annoying pollutants that have tainted the hardcore genre over the past decade (poppy vocals, synth-filled melodies, whiny lyrics, rapping) and presented them in a neat little package. Lame, we know. SKO, Larry's Pizza, Dude and 孩子的天空 will support.
