XIAO HE CD RELEASE PARTY: Release party for the polarizing and peculiar singer/songwriter's new LP The Performance of Identity. Although you may recognize the Handan-born guitarist from his stint with the Dadaesque troupe Glorious Pharmacy, he'll be performing cuts from the double LP (one disc each of live and studio improvisations) solo tonight. We hope gems such as "Carrefour is Looking for You" and "Didi Wants It" will be among them. Love him or hate him, this should certainly shape up to be a memorable evening.

Fireworks yet to be determined.

GT Banana, 9:30pm, 60 RMB (pre-sale tickets are available here through our WeLiveInBeijing Ticket Delivery Service)

RETRO PARTY: Take a trip down memory lane, old school Shanghai-style. Details (中文) can be found here.
Jiangjinjiu, 9:30pm

Eastern Quartet: Led by a trombone-tooting Beijinger, the foursome is said to sound like a combo of 1970s-era Miles Davis and groovy Latin jazz. Also at tonight's show, the People's Republic of Clavé -- the city's only live salsa orchestra -- are slated to make their debut appearance.
