UNIVERSITY NIGHT: Mr. Corner, Leaping Soul, Sauce Rain, Finger Family and Slope Village to ply their sonic wares to fickle audiences.

Big John's Blues Band: Beijing-based blues quartet to perform with legendary gospel/soul singer Ptah Brown in tow.

Eastern Quartet: Led by a trombone-tooting Beijinger, the foursome is said to sound like a combo of 1970s-era Miles Davis and groovy Latin jazz.

FUCKING ROLL THE GARAGE: We don't really understand the name, but we don't need to: it sounds cool, and with a lineup of Alt Senior, Careless, Camel, Nucleus, Camel Monster, expect grungy, stripped-down rock and (fucking) roll.

Xia Jia Trio: You may remember Xia Jia from his stints as the keyboardist for the both the Red Hand Jazz Band and rock god Cui Jian, as well as conducting the Beijing City Jazz Orchestra. Here, he will perform a blend of original compositions and innovative arrangements of standards with bassist Zhang Ke and Xiao Dou on the trap set.

SUBS: Raw garage rock quartet headlines, with Tookoo, Hell City and Three Sweet Knives offering support.

Ziyo: Helen Feng and crew to throw down in a night of energy-fueled rock and roll paired with cocktail alchemy. Crossover New Wave quartet the Bigger Bang will support alongside the Tag Team Indie Night DJ crew, who will undoubtedly spin records from a bunch of bands you've never heard of.

UPDATE: We've just received word that this event has been cancelled, but have been told that all are welcome to rock out, free of charge, on this summertime hangout's lawn and slug drinks with Ziyo/Pet Conspiracy frontwoman Helen Feng.

Queen Sea Big Shark: The spectacular New Wave/synth pop act headlines, with support coming from acclaimed fuzzpop trio Hedgehog, spry post-punks 24 Hours and the long-absent 23.

Army of Jade Kirin: We caught these guys a few weeks ago at 13 Club, and were impressed with their machinelike brand of precise industrial metal. (Think White Zombie meets AK-47.) Although exact details are still fuzzy for this event, feel free to contact Dr. Zydrate for more information.
